In my opinion, the Hetmanate is talked about because it feels more uniquely ukrainian, UPR is more associated with the soviets, and the kingdom has more to do with Poland’s history than Ukraine.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The production quality may not be the most top notch but History of Everything’s series on the history of Ukraine is phenomenal and needs way more attention than it got.
He starts in literal pre-historic times and goes all the way through the Holodomor. It’s fascinating and at times very depressing (namely the Holodomor episode), and I think anyone interested in the history of Ukraine should watch HoE’s series on it.

[link to the playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvdk7AGQ1gfmToDdVjWOxPrlENwsPw68c&si=5rEKzBqE0pJJDqFL) (there are some related videos which aren’t actually part of the series in there as well, just as a warning to anyone who watches. Only the first 5 videos are the actual history of Ukraine series)
Where did such borders of Ukrainian People’s Republic come from? I’m talking about west border regions, isn’t this territory of Poland?
