I don’t remember all the details, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, but as long as you connect to the internet in 14 days after downloading the game you have access to the game as freely as you did before, you can even go offline again afterwards, it’s just to try and prevent piracy.

Not exactly related but one time someone stole my identity and that included my PlayStation account.
I got everything sorted out with my credit cards, streaming accounts and other things, thankfully, but PlayStation said my account was compromised and now it’s gone.
I had thousands of dollars of games on that account; basically every first party ps4 game. I tried customer service many times and it always ended with “that account is banned” and that was that. I was fucked out of everything.
I’ll never forgive them for that.
