Yeah this checks out. I find myself clinging to childhood memories more and more. Restoring my childhood home to how it was when my parents moved in, collecting cartoons I used to watch, tracking down my childhood toys on ebay. Prolly not healthy but my childhood feels like someone else’s memories so it’s like I’m looking for proof that it happened and wasn’t just some fever dream lol.

I miss the lack of technology, I miss home phones on the wall, I miss lining up for concert tickets at Ticketek or Ticketmaster, I miss critical thinking, I miss listening to CDs on my shitty Panasonic cd system and buying them from HMV. I miss MTV. I miss entering Saturday morning contests on the music shows by calling up a number. I miss my Dad introducing me to Lou Reed and Pink Floyd and then introducing me to Tupac and Eminem as he saw them as street artists like Lou Reed. I miss MSN Messenger and yahoo messenger. I miss going to the state library with my Dad to prepare for debating as the internet was still slow and not as accessible.

Unfortunately everything is fucked, because we seem hell-bent on electing the utter dregs of humanity to rule over us.

I think people are forgetting that Ronald Reagan was once our president.

That twitter post does seem to make sense.

Millennials, especially older ones barely had a chance to savour the world before it became fully controlled by special interests.

I was born in 1986 and it’s like being served a platter of delicious food. But you’re only allowed a single bite of it but you’re allowed to smell it and look at it.

You’re then obsessed with that bite even though you don’t really remember it..just vague recollections of a single taste of it.

I think it’s because in the world before smart phones & social media… most people were happier. Millennials are the last generation that got to be kids without screen addiction.

Lol no. It’s because we were kids in the 90s with no responsibilities.

No it was, ya’ll were just too young to notice and too misinformed to care

    9. Every generation is nostalgic for the decade they were 10-20 years old because they had low levels of responsibility, everything was paid for, they had lots of friends compared to now and they were generally unaware of the shit state the world was in.

Yeah but everything they did created the present situation where the stupidest people who’ve ever lived would be unchallenged. Could’ve acted on money in politics instead jumped into bed with it, could’ve not caused the build up of capital in the private military sector, etc. Coulda woulda shoulda and in an ideal world they’d face similar justice to hopefully what these people’ll have to deal with but y’know, future’s an unknown

They really didn’t. The hideous element has been running the country into the ground since 1980. Clinton enabled them.
