Trump himself no doubt made out like a bandit with all of these ventures, and cut everyone he could get away with out of the profits, as he strip mined each business to its bones. Only thing more on-brand for Trump than lying, cheating and stealing to get ahead, is deluding himself that he’s as great as he pretends to be.
