At this point I’m pretty sure doing nothing is the point. They don’t care about prices. Best case for them is probably Iran escalating and somehow using this as an excuse to not have elections. Don’t ask me how, I like democracies.

Trump is realizing the dream of a chronic debtor who can always move the deadline for the payment that will finally break them.
Why would they surrender though? They just discovered they can play favorites with the global economy and America has alienated it’s allies so much it is political suicide to help even if it is in their interest to see this resolved.
