      VLC is the only thing from my childhood that hasn’t turned into a monthly subscription service.

      I use VLC to watch stuff from my PC on my tablet, but I use mpc-hc with MadVR on PC because VLC has a tendency to artifact for some reason.

      downloaded a player in 2005, and it’s still better than anything corporations created with billions of dollars

      Yeah, I had to stop using it. I was getting a lot of seemingly unsolvable codec issues. I have since switched to pot player and can never go back.
