It’s so cool but it’s sad it was found in a grave. Maybe just leave it?

Probably got it in trade while slaving. There was a huge traffic in slaves from Europe, taken by the Vikings, and shipped to the old central Asian empires. This ring probably made its way up the Volga to Scandinavia
This would make an incredible wedding ring. I would absolutely wear a 1200 year old Viking ring stolen from a museum.

not new, well known, trade routes reached as far as today only slower.

It has Fenrir DNA trapped inside.

It has been really interesting how much has been found these last 2 decades showing the strong & healthy commercial & cultural exchange between the middle east & persia with russian & scandanavian vikings. A lot of custom-ordered items (clothing, jewelry) with arabic (& farsi?) ordered by specific named norse lords.
Here is a fascinating 1st hand account from 921ad by arab muslim traveller from baghdad, ibn fadlan, on his encounter with the “rusiyyah” on the banks of the volga river.

The stories that ring could tell. Beautiful.

Just to be clear, in the first image, we all see a hyroglyph of New York city with a mouse sneezing underneath it, right?
I cannot read the fiery letters.

Helga in 800 AD. “So Lars, what did you bring me from this “raiding” you claim to have been doing?”
When does it go from grave robbing to “discovered in a grave”?
Looks like it belongs in a Dark Souls game. Especially the last picture
Can’t wait to see what conclusion about the people who were known for raiding things and trade routes people are going to come to over this
Man if this ring could talk …
One group known for raping, pillaging and trying to conquer people and the other group, the Vikings.

What a cool thing. It’s got to have the spirit of a Viking encased in there for eternity.. Maybe
Archaeologists found the skull of a Barbary ape in Navan Fort, Armagh Ireland. It was carbon dated to about 230 BC.
I mean, its almost like vikings traded and raided all over.
Amazing how much the Arabs learned from Romans.
I’m pretty sure that belongs to Khamul 😏
