The “272-290k” figure comes from a document from the Special Registry Office and International Tracing Service and it only refers to postwar death certificates.

These figures resulted from applications. If an entire family had died, there was no one to make an application for a death certificate. Secondly, the ITS had complete documentation for only two of the twenty-two concentration camps

The ITS director Albert de Cocatrix explained in 1977 that the following categories are not included in the SRO data:

      (A) Death cases in extermination camps. The persons destined for destruction were brought into the gas chambers without registration. The same applies to the Jews deported to Auschwitz, who were destined for the gas chambers after the “selection”.

      (B) Death cases in part before or shortly after the liberation.

      (C) Deaths in concentration camps for which no documents are available at the ITS.

      (D) Deaths of persons transferred to the concentration camps for execution.

Well you see, you fucked up the moment you thought holocaust deniers have reading comprehension

pretty sure there was more pair of shoes than that in auschwitz alone

The most idiotic thing is that the same people think Hitler was based for killing the Jews. They don’t care about consistency or logic.

      >zomg Based Hitler knew how to handle the JQ: give them swimming pools, orchestras, free healthcare, and settle them in Palestine/Israel.

I suppose this morons didn’t think at the fact, that even if this number was real, extermination of hundreds of thousands of innocent people is still crime against humanity?

      “Only” 271 k

(This comment is prohibited for being excessively discriminatory or hateful (Rule 3)) because I typed 271 k without a space.

God this place is a cess pool.

You overestimate the intelligence of this kind of individuals

The whole argument is such a farce. Like that number wouldn’t be horrific. What’s the point these people are trying to make? “Most died of disease” Yeah? While being illegally sent to a camp? The responsibility of the camp conditions would fall to those administering the camps. I just don’t get how deniers can make these arguments like they’re good arguments.

Perhaps what I’m gonna say is controversial, but it is so damn true.
A Nazi from 40’s would view the modern Nazi apologetic as a useful idiot, and a PUSSY.
Modern Nazi apologetics try to portray Nazis as some sort of “wholesome nationalist and socialist fighters for truth”, downplaying or denying what Nazis took a great pride in: the genocide of “lesser people”.

    10. Metallica1175 on

Holocaust deniers are the same people who say 300,000 Palestinians died in Gaza.

    11. Many-Ad6433 on

Even if that was the actual amount instead of the millions that’s still a lot of people that died… like imagine 100 9/11s back to back…

    12. Unemployed_commi11 on

Even 270k is very high , imagine saying that 270k death is a small man they were humans(couldn’t write 271 idk why)

    13. Even if this number was in any way shape or form real, why would someone be happy with so many people dying? Why still use this number of deaths as a way to pawn and own someone in an argument?

And the funny thing is, although this argument belongs in the ‘ holocaust denial’ sphere, it actually confirms it imo. Typical Holocaust deniers argue that everything was staged, that less people died, the photos were fake etc. But this argument only focuses on the numbers. By trying vehemently to deny the scale it completely misses the system behind it. It doesn’t try to deny the existence of the camps, the gas chambers, the torture, the system as a whole, stuff that typical denialists put forth. It admits it happened, but also wishes it went better, as you’ll often see the 270k argument accompanied by ‘ wish it was more’ and other similar nasty things.

So it kinda shoots itself in the foot as a denialist theory but then again neonazis aren’t known to be very smart

“The Holocaust wasn’t that bad, only 200 thousands perished!”

A million of Romani and 20 millions of Slavs exterminated by Nazis and their allies:

    15. Meanwhile that’s still a shitton of people industrially murdered as a goal of the state,,.

    16. Blade_Shot24 on

This is why education, reading comprehension, and rhetoric are so important.

    17. MildlyUpsetGerbil on

It didn’t happen –> okay, it happened, but it wasn’t as bad as you say it was –> okay, it happened, and it was a GOOD thing, and I hope it happens again

That’s how it *always* goes with every extremist. The problem isn’t the crime; the problem is that other people notice the crime and are appalled by it.

    18. JanuszisxTraSig on

Lmao. Only in Auschwitz alone died 1.1 mln people

(Ofc I’m taking fun of internet morrons and nazi victims)

    19. tartan_rigger on

People often don’t have a grasp how brutally methodical Einsatzgruppen and local collaborators were in their ethnic cleansing campaign on the eastern front.

    20. I don’t even get how minimizing the number makes anything better. It’s like saying only 10 people died, not 100. What are you getting all worked up about?

    21. MaleficentType3108 on

I had a coworker that didn’t believe the nazis killed 6 millions jews because there wasn’t that many jews in Germany. I lost my mind trying to explaing to him that it was in all Europe. I was almost starting to hit the table, but others coworkers just tried to calm me down saying “man, he is dumb, don’t try to argue”.

And it wasn’t like he was deniyng the holocaust, he was just denying the number based on the jewish population of Germany

    22. FadedVictor on

Nothing makes me more sick than people diminishing genocides. I have absolutely nothing but respect for the various groups that were systematically murdered as if they were germs. The sheer suffering they endured literally makes me teary eyed.

I can’t even fathom a tenth of what it must have been like to see your child ripped from your arms as you’re marched to your imminent death. It’s one of the most humbling experiences I have every learned about.

I hope I have the privilege to visit the memorials someday and pay my respects to all who were exterminated.

I don’t recommend watching it if you are squimeash but the British liberation of Bergen Belsen in color is on YouTube. It’s the most haunting video I have ever seen and I’ve seen A LOT of depraved shit on the Internet.

    23. Washed_up_Vanski on

To me the number itself is almost irrelevant. What truly matters is the fact that there was a system of wholescale exploitation and ultimately execution of an entire people.

    24. I don’t know why people keep referencing it in a sort of ‘joking way but also not really’?

I feel like there are better things to ‘make fun of’ than a multi-hundred-thousand (by their count) death toll (I’m aware 6 million+ is the actual general number)

    25. Duke_Wolfgang on

This is also stupid because it assumes the problem with the holocaust was the number of people that died? Like the scale of the holocaust was not what made it evil and the perpetrators monsters. If it had only been a hundred jews killed it still would have been a tragedy.

    26. Crazy how modern day western liberals spout literal Nazi propaganda, and they’re proud of it lol

    27. GoonerBoomer69 on

Well, glad these Nazis apparently only murdered 270 000 people, i was beginning to think they were evil.

    28. KneeHiSniper on

Even if it was true that is still really bad. 271 thousand people dead is bad.

    29. Terroronmyface on

Matched with a girl on bumble who said this. Quickest unmatch of my life.

    30. Lopsided-Weather6469 on

Even if it was only that number, how would that make WW2 Germans one bit less of a bunch of fuckin criminals?
