This is hilarious because I worked for years at a print shop that did graphics like this and I’d get so many ridiculous requests from store-owners during the proofing process. I once had someone complain about the glare on a model’s glasses that made one of her eyes not visible and she asked if I could remove the glare? This was a corporate graphic that they provided me with. Insane request but I had a lot of free time so I reconstructed the eye by referencing the other eye in photoshop.
Sometimes people had really bad ideas and I would do it anyways just to show them how bad it would look. Seems like whoever printed this did the same type of thing as me but the owner looked at it and said “perfect”.
At a certain point you stop taking pride in the work and you just do what the difficult client is asking for…. the fact that this was approved, printed, and installed is ridiculous.

When I lived in the middle east, everything was like this. When going through the pool section, every kid or adult in a swimsuit on a package had a full black wetsuit drawn over them.

I once knew people who opened a nightclub and they had a big metal sign which was the silhouette of a woman. There was nothing obvious to say that she was naked (like no outlines of nipples, or anything). No detail at all, no face, no marks to indicate anything, nothing. Just a solid chunk of metal
A week after opening they were forced by the local authorities to have it modified so that she was wearing a dress, with the dress being made out of a contrasting material so that there was no way to mistake it for anything else
