He trained with the Cambridge University Air Squadron, later flying helicopters for 845 Naval Air Squadron aboard HMS Hermes, and completed the Royal Marines Commando training, earning his green beret. He retired in 1976 as a Commander.

Dont glaze the guy too hard. While he would have passed basic training/ got his wings/ served in non combat situations, the level of awards granted to him were obviously extremely managed.
FIFA really should have issued a medal along with the trophy.
