    1. If I had the choice between fansubs and official subs I would be choosing fansubs 90% of the time. Some series I just couldn’t enjoy them because of the horrible official subs

I usually side with fansubs. I’m just not a fan of “localization curation”. I’ll decide what stories I consume thank you very much.

Fansubbers really just be making up their own fanfics on the fly when the official script isn’t there to stop them.

Baki manga was fan translated by someone who didn’t know japanese and simply use Google translate and filled the “gaps” in the translations with the context you can get from the scenes mixed with personal sensations.

    5. I used to be part of a fansub group which might be why I despise most official subs and their “localisation”.

Also the reason I don’t like dubs. So much gets lost in translation.

I remember fan subs used to have STYLE! They would have colours, move about n stuff. Was nice

Yeah, fansubs are just some guy. Sometimes said guy really cares about getting it right and does their research. Sometimes they very much do not.

    8. at least it’s not translating “Yamero” to be “Stop Fascism” (yes it’s real, although it’s not an anime, it’s a game translation from a company the developer/publisher hire, i forgot the game name, it’s about rhythm game and i think it has “Yunyun” in the name)

    9. While fan subs might do that atleast your not paying for maliciously put agenda on subs look at the game Yun Syndrome’s if i paid money and tharz what i got id get upset while fan subs it would be like ok this might be slightly bad but its free

    10. I think the worst I have ever seen is still the one from Dragon Ball Super where they just used like Google Translate and copy pasted it.
