Fun Fact: The Bionic Woman is the reason that She-Hulk was created at Marvel Comics.
Universal Television was making the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman spinoff. They also made the Incredible Hulk TV series, and they had the right to create derivative works based on their license for the Hulk.
After the success of Bionic Woman, Marvel became concerned that they would try the same trick – a spinoff where a woman has the same powers as the man from the first show – with the Hulk. They created She-Hulk in 1979 to establish the female Hulk as their IP before the studio made their own version (which never did happen).
