      seems like an okay idea… but the claim that the assailant would be incapacitated seems like complete bullshit.

      This is a cool ideal, but, how would this work in practice? Do you wear it none stop? Or do you pause the other party while they are trying to assault you, to put one in? I can only imagine how the rapist would act once their member was sliced too, surely that would result in some more intense injuries for the victim after they beat them from rage. Also, could they not take the device with them once they realize what is going on? This is one of those “good in theory” ideals.

      I feel like this will turn a rape into a murder real fast also it is silicone so I it’s not hard to remove with snips later

      How can it *only* be removed by a technician?

      I feel like a pair of emt scissors slid into it would cut right through the silicone..

      This seems incredibly ineffective. This would be rather obvious for both user (that does not look comfortable) and anyone who would encounter it in an attempt at sexual violence. Additionally, the claim that it would be impossible to remove without medical intervention seems dubious given it is a flexible shell that stretches- even if the plastic barbs are solid, it seems you could manipulate the device to free the barbs, or simply cut it. A penis is going to shrink when exposed to pain.. well most of them probably. In any case, I don’t see this resulting in an attacker going to the hospital to get themselves charged with sexual assault. Not to mention DNA evidence on the victim may be reduced.

      I remember learning about these back in HS almost 20 years ago, that was a fun class discussion. We eventually figued its better to just arm oneself or take self desense courses since thisll probably turn a would be rape into a straight up murder

      Its not adamantium. The idea it can’t be cut or only removed at a hospital is silly marketing.

      Preparing your everyday life with an anticipation of rape is quite morbid.

      It also relies on assailant not expecting it, so mass adoption will make it less useful.

      Wouldn’t the woman be covered internally with the rapists blood an increase significantly the chance of infection?

      Just get a gun girls. You probably don’t want their (now) bleeding dick inside you in the first place, and mangling an assailant’s dick while deserved is probably going to enrage them more than incapacitate them, but idk.
