I like pop tarts, but not enough to justify the calories. i’ve always thought they were WAY out of proportion with how big they are / how they taste and the huge amount of calories each one manages to be.

There was a post I saw yesterday showing Pop-Tarts with too much icing.

lol I haven’t bought anything from them since they told us to eat cereal for dinner. Glad to see it didn’t bother you.

When was the last time you opened one and it looked like the picture? For me, it was 2002.

In my experience, off-brand poptarts tend to be better quality for less money.

Yeah, all companies are doing this. Stop buying this crap, it’s filled with f’n petroleum jelly anyways.

Cutting back on filling AND frosting. They’ve been mostly inedible dry crackers for at least a decade

The picture yesterday was like triple this amount of frosting on a diff flavor.

Yummy. Sugar bread!

They just have really shitty quality control. Some have lots of icing and some don’t have enough.

This looks like the same amount of frosting, just monstrously displaced.

This product has been on the slide down ever since the 90s.

Looks like someone dipped their dong in frosting then mushroom tapped them.

This is 100% a manufacturing mistake. The ones we bought recently look like the box though I won’t be buying them again because they really don’t taste like anything but sugar. The calorie to flavor ratio is way off.
nothingbutmistakes on
I’ve always hated how the picture on the box has the pop-tart broken at such an angle that it gives the impression that there’s sooo much more filling than in reality.

Looks like a machine malfunction and they just didn’t care. On the other hand, who buys poptarts anymore?

Would definitely be contacting the manufacturer and requesting a refund.

Wish we had the standards like Japan where they legally have to look like as advertised.

I remember getting one in 2008 (in the UK, so imported) and already thinking it was way too little icing. Cant imagine how bad it is now.

My Poptarts used to look like this all the time like 17 years ago. I think it’s just always been hit or miss if you are going to get a good package or not.

If I could buy plain pop tarts I would. The icing is by far the worst part imo.

This looks more like the icing machine was running out tbh
I’ve stopped buying them for the last 2 or so years because of this. Might even be since Covid. I tried like 4-5 boxes and each one was like this. Not wasting my money on it anymore.
XB_Demon1337 on
Well, these two clearly missed something in the process of icing. The real skimping is filling. They basically aren’t filled anymore. Almost 100% bread.

Dont-know-didnt-ask on
Most store brands are better now just because of the icing quantity, even if they weren’t cheaper, which they usually are.

I hope that’s a manufacturing mistake, i haven’t had a pop tart in ages, this looks horrid.
Consider it a blessing…
Please stop buying them.
Buy great value pop tarts. They are better than regular pop tarts these days
Holy crap they used to be beautiful like the box picture these are abominations

The Kroger brand pop tarts are amazing
And [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/ysos4KCLiB) is the opposite
Another reason that the 90s were the best…
