Fun fact- he died during the filming of Ed Wood’s “Plan 9 from Outer Space”. Ed replaced him with his chiropractor. You can tell because at a certain point he keeps his cape pulled over his face, Dracula-style. Poor Bela was far gone in drug and alcohol addictions.

“Morphine with a Demerol chaser”. Honestly I don’t know how the entire country wasn’t addicted to opiates back then. When you literally could order heroin from a sears catalog with needle and all. The mix of many new drugs and no real drug laws must’ve been crazy.
