now they ask candidates to have the experience of the entire IT department and solve 2 difficult brain teaser algorithm questions in each round of the interviews, totaling 5 rounds lmao

Went for an interview at 27. The hiring manager laughed when I told him I had 9 years experience in IT. He told me most of his guys had twice that time.

For real is it worth even going into IT? I’m good at it, I could probably pass the CompTIA right now if asked but I don’t want to pursue another useless degree.

They have girls out of college with no IT experience working as IT Managers now in their early 20-s for low/medium wages and they are much easier to manipulate than older guys.

Corporate does not need your experience and degrees, because the older and more experienced you are, the more expensive you’re going to be.

It’s much cheaper to have an intern for a quarter of your salary and outsource the rest to third world countries.

And that’s excluding “ghost job” postings that are only there to show off to stake holders in main branches that the company is growing on paper to get more funding.

    5. Atp, I be making shit up on my resume. 5 years of accounting experience? Sure. Proficient in some programming language a never heard of? Nothing a YouTube video can’t get me through

    6. 15 years of IT experience and a masters in electrical engineering. Can’t even get a proper rejection letter.

Just tell them you spend the last 15 years in prison that way they can’t say you’re overqualified.
