Pax Mongolica is a fairly well-known relative peace that overtook the steppes after the Mongol conquests. There were still wars and raids, but the inter-tribal conflicts that had so often gotten in the way of nation-building took a nosedive. It also helped that the streamlining of trade routes under Ogodei made them all filthy, stinking rich.
