Yep, definitely remember when this was on Cartoon Network. Good times…

The Clone Wars actually started as a series of shorts by Genndy Tartakovsky on cartoon network. That’s the guy who made things like Dexter’s Lab and Samurai Jack. Later Cartoon Network aired the CGI version most people know of spun off from the Tartakovsky series.

This is like if I bought an antique vase and claimed I made it myself

I believe that they are technically allowed to do this because of season 7. But Cartoon Network is the real champion here.

What do you expect? Disney is a parasite that takes beloved IPs, makes them worse, then sustains itself on the diminishing returns as it sucks out what little profit is left to be made from them.

Netflix does the same thing. Example Luxifer, last season was done by Netflix so they can claim it was a “original”.

that “Disney Original” feels illegal somehow 😭

both kinda valid tho, CN era was peak but Disney finished the story

So basically if a company has exclusive streaming rights to a series they get to list it as their “original”. Good example of this is a lot of shows, especially anime, that Netflix airs now.

They bought the rights to the show. Now they own it. It’s the same way you can say you own your car or house or lunchbox or anything. Someone else made it, you bought it, now it’s yours.

Technically true with Season 7……to a certain point at least.

The Krennic Network brought us the Death Star, not Tarkin+!

incredibly fitting because the clone wars was created by Lucasfilm Animation and CN taking credit for somebody else’s work just cause they aired it

I see Disney is embracing their role as the British Museum of entertainment
