I think Japan have just had enough of people coming over and ruining their country – can’t say I blame them

Ik I’m gonna get a bunch of downvotes for saying this, but after reading about Japan’s dark side and all the atrocities they committed during WWII, I’m not falling for their Uwu propaganda XD

Japan was a wonderful place to visit but I’d never want to live and work there.

The tourist experience is different to real life. Fun to visit, corporate hell to live in.

I thought there were people on both sides?
I visited in 2019 and loved it. Had so much fun. I definitely noticed that I was out of place, but, most people were polite and friendly, if a little stand-offish.
I’d never live there.

Very xenophobic, horrible work culture. I follow a YouTube channel of a woman from America who lived in Japan as an English teacher in a rural town who tried to find work in Tokyo when her contact expired and really laid out out bare of an outsiders experience in the real Japan.

Didn’t the same thing happen with katanas?
Where first you had weebs like me overhyping it to seem like a real life lightsaber that could cleave through the moon, and then the reality check massively overcorrected to the point of making it seem like a decorative piece of glass?

Been there. Great place for vacation, but with the work culture there, wouldn’t want to live there.

Visiting japan seems wonderful, living in japan seems awful.

Goomba fallacy. Those are different people, and both opinions have always been at least decently popular at all times.

Just my two cents, I think advertising that “Japan is paradise” will increase tourism which increases the amount assholes, eventually locals get sick of it..?

Not on reddit. This site thinks Japan is leagues ahead of the rest of the world.

Japan is great if you don’t have to work there. If you have to work there it’s awful. It has always been like that. That much should be obvious.
