Imagine being told the ‘War to End All Wars’ is just the pilot episode for a franchise. 😭

“Hey, how many global wars have there been?”

“what do you mean *how many*”

    4. OP has nothing better to do than repost old memes from his phone, don’t you want to be original and create something?

Imagine the sheer terror of hearing there is actually a sequel to the Great War

    7. They did this joke in one of the Doctor Who christmas specials if I remember correctly

It wasn’t called WW1 till we were in WW2. So it stands to reason the same scenario could happen now. Where the time traveler asks someone now if this is WW3 or WW4.

    9. TT: Who do you fight for?

      Soldier: The German Reich

      TT: Who are you fighting?

      Soldier: British, French and Russians

TT: Whose side is Italy on?

Soldier: Those traitors sided with the allies!

TT: This isn’t working, what year is it?

      Soldier: 1916

      TT: Alright, so it’s WW1

      Soldier:

I mean, it’s called WW1. Bro has to be real stupid to think there wouldn’t be a sequel

    11. You forgot to add 16 years old to make sure that he also has to fight in the second if he survives 😅

    12. Are they on the front line? Cause then they would feel their death is incredibly meaningless.

    13. I feel like anyone important enough to be a time traveler should be able to figure out what time period they’re in.

The funny part of that is not only that it implies another world war but also that they are close enough in time period that looking at technology from one of them could have you questioning which it is. This suggests they were extremely close together. That soldier isn’t just realizing there’s more than one of these things but also that he will likely be fighting in the second one as well

    15. I Thought it was called The Great War at the time, so soldiers wouldn’t get the reference yet?

    16. Grab_Critical on

As your joke is in English, during WW1, the war was most commonly called The Great War. Only in 1939, the term Worldwar 1 was more widely used.

Let me know I’m wrong (I know you will)

“Use your eyes mate I’m holding a Springfield 1906 not a M1941 Johnson. It’s One!”

“Oh, we aren’t the only time travelers here are we?”
