“The Early bird catches the worm” has always bothered me cos like what does the worm get for waking up early straight death in bird format.

Nature has done this experiment. All baby turtles hatch at the same time so that by sheer volume some make it to the sea despite all the birds (and other predators) having a field day. The early bird does get more chances at the “worms” though. And sleeping in is suicide.
