My brain can hear a conversation across the room… but not the instructions right in front of me.

    2. This is a perfect representation of my brain trying to focus on literally anything productive today

    3. My brain has 47 open tabs and I have no idea where the music is coming from but I definitely did not hear a word you just said.

My brain hears a fly sneeze three rooms away, but when someone says do this one thing, it just goes on airplane mode permanently.

Me: it’s too loud I can hear the conversation 5 tables away!

Also me: *proceeds to ask the person in front of me to repeat themselves 4 different times*

    6. To my knowledge, which is based on what my mother told me, I don’t have ADHD, according to the psychologist she went to with me at a young age. Still I feel that, I mean, I’m also kinda skeptic towards this all anyways.

    7. That’s not how it works. They hear it simultanously but can’t differentiate or Filter them.

My brain tends to need to put simple instructions through much more complicated steps in order to process it correctly.

As someone with ADHD this deeply offends me… JK! But I do have ADHD though and I just wanted to say this is a spectrum disorder so it looks different for each person. While yes we do have trouble drowning out background noises we can still process simple instructions. It’s just not guaranteed that we will get them done. Because we uh, forget…

      Hey look a squirrel!

    11. Me when I try to pay attention to something but then I prioritize the act of paying attention rather than actually fucking paying attention

Idk if that makes sense but it’s what my brain could vomit

Its not an accurate statement, but ive started telling people having ADHS is like being born with early onset dementia. This clicks with people for some reason.

    13. I can hear a dog barking three blocks away, a neighbor’s lawnmower, and my own heartbeat, but if you tell me a three-step instruction, step two is already in a different dimension.

    14. POV: My brain during a conversation vs when someone says ‘just focus’ 😭
      Why is it like this??
