In Russia, the missile gets a fresh coat of paint and a prayer.

The USA one is a lot closer, because Russia’s version of maintenance is stealing all the valuable bits out of the nuke to sell off.

Yeah, because there’s a lot of issues with the maintenance of the Minuteman III rocket pool and that for years. While the rockets are ok-ish, the rest of the stuff, like the infrastructure, tools, computers etc is apparently crumbling.
I heard a joke: “Don’t worry about an accidental launch of an american missile, the silo won’t open anyways.”

US: 60 engineers working fifty hour weeks checking to make sure the stainless steel screws don’t have dust on them
You illiterates fucknuggets who upvoted this BS meme might not be aware of this fact but here in the the God’s old USA we not only spend 16 sextillion dollars for spot rust treatments but we **also** launch a few rockets per year and then do maintences after one blows up.
Last time a launch failed was a Minuteman III on November 1st 2023. An unexpected anomaly± blew it up over the Pacific Missile range.
± There is some debate on whether the Air Force destroyed it or whether it started to break up IE exploded and then the AF sent the destruct signal

As someone from europe this give me hope that if the US and Russia ever try to blow up each other. The onces coming from russia have at least a good ish chance of not working at all.
