I watched a video from new scientist about this and that 1280 left is not necessarily what the bottleneck indicated.

    3. I hate sensationalist statements like this that show the facts in a misconstrued light.
Imagine I have two brothers and they both marry and have kids. One of my brothers lose their children and I dont have any children at all. Does that mean there is only two people in my generation? No. Just that future generations are only based on two people, not that there was only two people.

You fucked up, Earth. Should’ve taken us out when you had the chance. Now look at you.

    5. The problem with this theory is that we have fossils from this era ranging from Africa to China, all dated over the 100,000 years they say that this occurred.

A better theory is that this only represented one small group, rather than the Earth as a whole.

    6. I mean how many humans were there before the “vanishing”? 30k – 70k ? It sounds crazy for todays population but back then there werent much humans to begin with

    7. It was the intergalactic war we lost, and the punishment was de-evolution. We have been barred from intergalatic trade federation for a million years.

    8. How did they come up with 1280 people left? 800,000 years ago and they came up with that specific number?

Well duh, the Cylons nearly got us but Galactica managed to pull us through. So say we all.
