edit: It might be just me, but the word “opression” has been thrown around so often that it starts to feel light. Like refusing to serve someone for their color / religion.
edit2: By definition: Genocide involves specific acts intended to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Oppression involves systematic subjugation, discrimination, or abuse, which may not have the explicit goal of annihilation. Again.
