Who doesn’t love history? I don’t. I fucking hate history. Someone tried to talk to me about the ‘metaphysics of time’ once and I ended up catching a murder charge over it—got court tomorrow!
Wait, people actually think Nazis were competent? Their primary logistics strategy was ‘hope the horses don’t freeze.

Can we stop pretending that nazis weren’t competent? They weren’t incompetent cartoon villains. They were organized and effective (not in a admirable way) and that’s what made them dangerous. Treating them like idiots just hides how real the threat was.
“Oh Nazis were so stupid and incompetent”. My brother in Christ they were literally the biggest threat of europe (even the whole world) right after the black plague.
Minimizing them is dangerous.

What’s the “should read Paul Fussell” one? I can’t read the text above it.

Both of these posts entirely miss off the weird right wing (mostly) american r/historymemes posters that will mention tankys at the drop of a hat and are very pro-American interventionism (even though historically that’s the opposite of what right wing Americans wanted).

There’s always the group of people that are extremely pro German for both world wars, saying they have the best equipment, tactics, politics or even saying if they won those wars the world would be better.
Then there’s the extremely pro Russia/Soviet group that thinks they’re the strongest country from the start of the 1900s to now, and that they also have the best equipment, tactics, never lost anything and won everything single handedly.
