    1. The meme is excellent, happy birthday to Lenin.

But I’ll be stifling and clarify that Lenin’s involvement in the execution of the Romanov citizens (the former royal family) has not been proven. The decision was made and carried out by local Bolsheviks of the Ural Soviet.

No, it’s clear that Nicholas and Alexandra would have met their end anyway, and Lenin planned to humiliate them first in a public trial and then execute them, but things didn’t work out.

    2. Based.

Edit: not enough Russian Revolution memes on this sub. My man Trotsky was a menace that could provide meme GOLD!

I hope he has a very [un]happy birthday rotting in the inner circle of hell itself

Hot take but the killing of the Czar was somewhat justifiable given the circumstances. Not arguing that the killing of the kids was good, but Nicholas definitely deserved what was coming his way. Real piece of shit he was.

    5. Lenin didn’t order it…

The message asking for permission probably didn’t even reach him before the deed was done, since they only waited like a day for a response and that wasn’t long enough to receive the message and send back a response. There is one source by Trotsky claiming that Sverdlov told him the orders came from the top, but that was a conversation that Trotsky admits was brief and that he didn’t inquire further about, so we have no idea if Sverdlov was being truthful. The timeframe doesn’t add up because messages didn’t travel that fast back then, so Sverdlov likely never received a response from Lenin, at least not before the deed was done.

How dare Lenin overthrow imperialist Russia, doesn’t he know the poor Elites worked really hard for their position.

Cowards often have to kill their betters, but history spits on Lenin’s name and Saint Nicholas is the passion bearer.

    8. i think we should start with the fact that the execution was carried out by local bolsheviks, not by the orders of the main party leaders, mostly due to Nikholai being essentially useless politically-wise

      Nice but:

      1. It wasn’t Lenin order.

      2. Nicholas II wasn’t a tsar by that moment he was killed.
