Hutu militants killed somewhere between 700k and a million Tutsis in a span of 3 months with mostly machetes, clubs and other blunt weapons. Meanwhile the Nazis had high advanced infrastructure and almost a decade of planning, yet we are expected to believe they only got 272k people in over 3 years?

This reminds me of the people claiming that 30 000 dead Iranian protestors in a few months is unrealistic. For fucks sake, the Byzantines killed more than that in a single city in a single day in the 6th century (Nika riots). And the idea that an authoritarian theocracy would refuse to kill the protestors actively trying to bring down the regime is laughable
Yeah, if we’re talking strictly about the ratio of deaths to time in which they were dealt, nazis were on the slow end of the spectrum due to their desire to first extort as much slave labour out of their victims. Humans can be surprisingly efficient at killing each other when that’s all there is on their minds, depending on the circumstances. At Cannae, Carthaginians slaughtered 50000+ Romans in a single afternoon with swords and spears.
People also meme about German efficiency but refuse to acknowledge that the 6 million figure was possible largely in part to how disgustingly systematic and efficient the Nazis made their system. They literally industrialized and streamlined the process of genocide the way modern factories streamline manufacturing.

I’ve had this exact conversation with a holocaust denier and when I asked him this question, his face went blank. It wasn’t even funny, it was straight up sad that the though never even crossed his mind.
Killing people is rather easy when you put them all into a fenced in area and just, don’t feed them.
6 million also excludes a lot of people that were also murdered.
6 million jews ignores the gays, gypsies, prisoners of war, communists (or other opposition), etc.
Like, imagine how many bullets are fired in a war. Now imagine if all those bullets were killshots. That would be a mass execution. And execution by gunfire was one of the slower methods the nazi’s had.
They were on the slow end. Not only because they first extorted as much labor as possible. But also because the nazi’s were meticulous with their documentation (something which would later bite them in the ass). They didn’t just kill people. They exploited them for all they had first. And since humans are resillient: that took a lot of time.

The 6 million is also a number reported BEFORE ww2 even started, in news regarding them.
But even besides that, it is a fact that history, especially as I was taught focused solely on them, I was never taught at the other countless millions that lost their lives, civilians alike, it was a huge focus on the chambers and little else.
This obviously allows for a huge question mark to then be exploited by those who would rewrite history for their needs.
On the other hand there’s plethora of factual proof that “them” were indeed a target because of propaganda aimed at dividing people….. and not too far from whats going on today socially speaking, really hard to overlook that and simply say “thats waicist” or “anti-them”.

This is one of those moments where I feel like more people need to watch the HBO film *Conspiracy*. The fact that they used the actual notes from the meeting to make the film is probably what makes it the most terrifying, especially when you realize that it was only one person not destroying them being the difference between us knowing about the fact it was planned and not.
