I’m sure this thread will be calm, rational, and kind to our neighbors who come here to make a better life for themselves
Are there issues with the immigration system as it stands? Absolutely. But that’s not on the individuals who’ve come here under that system, it’s on the predetory immigration advisory system that surrounds that system.
Edit: it’s also on business owners who take advantage of said system to keep paying people as little as possible.

India has th largest population in the world and makes up 18% of the global population. Shocking it would be the biggest, shocking I tell you!

I grew up in Canada in the 90s and I felt like that was a time of true diversity in immigration. It would be nice to get back to a “melting pot” of migrants from all over the world. It was our cultural identity.
For every person in my school from India, there was also a Croatian, Polish, Ukrainian, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, Filipino, Congolese, Sierra Leone, German, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, etc.
I feel like this is not the case anymore.

This is a direct correlation to Trump. Thousands of Indians migrate every year, however most of them aim to go to USA. However when Trump came to power in 2016, a lot of them changed their immigration plans to other English speaking countries like UK, Canada and Australia. You can check the other country stats as well and you would see the data spiking around 2016 and 2017.

Well, India has the most people. Canada is relatively sparsely populated. Hardly surprising.

This is good news for Canada. On average Indians make more money, are more productive, ambitious, entrepreneurial and intelligent than Canadians. Canada will continue to become more competitive the more they replace canadians with Indians
