This is not about the girl cows being girls, they absolutely don’t intend for them to be male. They’re complaining about “Traditionally girl names”. Plenty of female animals have names that aren’t traditionally girly.
Yes, their point is still stupid, no there is not a link between eating animals and being misogynistic. But wilfully misinterpreting what is being said makes for a poor punchline. They’re being stupid in a different way. It falls flat.
