    1. Chernobyl can also be described as – Communists are too embarrassed to admit they fucked up boiling water, make everything worse to cover up.

the original text was “slavs/russians are too stupid to boil water”, wasn’t it

The correct answer is incompetent leaders are incompentent even if they are communists, capitalists, moronic…

    4. Thank goodness we have guarantees that all the world’s leaders will be rational, capable adults for the next several generations

    5. Liberals will see you speedrun the next 10 Five-year plans’ energy goal and say “That Ni**a can’t boil water”. Shake my head SMH. /s

Not just that. The wasted is also a problem that is yet to be solved, if that’s even possible.

Chernobyl would’ve been a billionaire blunder if it happen today (The reactor was made as cheaply as possible, and the operator was following orders even when he should’ve shut it down or ACTUALLY KNEW THE RISKS.)

He would be concerned about lossing his job if he aborted the test. He wouldn’t know the issues about the reactor and possible failure cause that would be a company’s trade secret.

Chernobyl was caused by a lack of checks on the ruling/operating body and the 20th and 21st century desire to be as cheap as possible now matter what. Not communism

I wouldn’t say stupid, just too lazy and too prideful to do it properly

    9. Them: You’re afraid of nuclear power because of Chernobyl? What a loser

Me: I don’t trust nuclear power because have you met your fellow Americans? or Billionaires, or the US Government? You want to put THOSE idiots in charge of a new nuclear power plant?

Nuclear energy is way too expensive. Even if you have a place to store the material afterwards. That’s the actual argument these days. Yes dangers exist etc. but the main argument why we definitely shouldn’t build new nuclear plants it’s because it’s astronomically expensive compared to every other form of producing energy.

And for those who say but but France, it’s a state run operation that’s horrendously in debt.

“X is too stupid to Y”

      Did you mean:

“I am too stupid to engage with the factors X created which led to Y”

    12. Actually it was a bit more malicious. They were trying to cut corners and cheap out

Thank God we can depend on private energy to act in our best interests.

The Chernobyl disaster happened because they were cutting costs on safety measures, just like how they cut costs with Fukushima and Three Mile Island.
