There was a girl in my high school who carried a bit of weight in her belly. Absolutely beautiful, kind, lovely kid. She came back from spring break one year and looked like she had lost a ton of weight. Like, a concerning amount really fast.
I remember gently asking if she was okay.
She too had gotten a 12# cycst removed from her ovary.
I am glad you’re not carrying around the nonsense weight anymore, and I hope your recovery is swift!

I’m so glad you were able to have it removed before it burst!! 😱 I’ve had smaller ovarian cysts burst and I wouldn’t wish that pain on my worst enemy. I can’t imagine how bad that would have been. So glad you’re feeling better and you don’t have to deal with that constant discomfort anymore.

Wow, I’ve never had one over 10cm and those feel awful. I can’t even imagine. (Currently have two and they’re filled with blood rather than clear fluid so THAT’s fun)

Ugh this reminds me I need to schedule a follow up ultrasound to check and see if mine grew… I’m so scared. I’m dumb and should have gone to the doctor earlier. I just figured 2 periods a month were due to grad school stress. Ugh I’m just so scared and I didn’t expect anything to actually be wrong.

Same thing happened to me last December! Ovarian cyst caused ovarian torsion, and ended up weighting 8lb and taking up the entire right side of my body (doctors were shocked I couldn’t tell at all and said I got a weight loss surgery for free). They also said it was as big as a football!

Glad you got relief! I’ve been having awful periods and other weird symptoms for a while and finally got an ultrasound yesterday and wouldn’t you know it, a cyst on my ovary! The tech seemed convinced it would resolve on its own (im currently ovulating) but I guess well see…waiting for the gyno to call me and discuss further. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Glad you had it removed! Do you mind my asking: did they have to take your ovary with it? I hear it’s common to have to remove the ovary with the cyst…
