As dumb as he sounds, and I can’t believe I’m the one having to defend this, this is how swearing the oath goes when there are multiple people at the ceremony. Trump wasn’t taking the oath, but he was giving it to a group of military personnel who were re-upping. You can’t do it with each individual, so you do it with “say your name” or something similar. I hope I never have to defend Trump ever again because now I feel sick.
