Everyone who is legally blind in Australia gets a non means tested Blind Pension and I think that is very fair.
Some of the greatest barristers and solicitors are sight impaired. They earn and deserve mega bucks for their work and like every other blind person get and deserve that pension.

They used to have companies that made gear and clothing under contract for the military, too, like “Lighthouses For the Blind.” Don’t know if they still do, but I know it was a thing for years.

At my job when we ordered new furniture we had to fill out a form saying why we weren’t buying it from the company that employs blind people to assemble the furniture and one time I made a joke and said “that seems pretty self explanatory” and I got in trouble for “making fun of blind people”.
