Why do revolutions always kill leaders who are actually trying harder than their ancestors or leaders who are both capable and willing to fix the issues that the revolution rides on?

    2. Leftists do not have a history of tolerance. Liberals, who leftists often hate, are the tolerant political ideology

Also like leftists still have a magazine called Jacobin so I’m not sure of they have changed much

    3. Nothing about the french revolution is leftist in the modern sense. They just destroyed the establishment (not very left like) and they replaced it with a pseudo dictatorial regime which culminated in an emperor…

Man the French Revolution was just terrible. Doesn’t seem like anyone knew what they were doing

    5. The state failed and was a cesspool of corruption and extravagance. Starvation and depravity resulted in violent revolution and revenge against the wealthy who didn’t really care about the lives of the poor.
Sure it was political and anti-authoritarian, left, Liberall – call it a ham sandwich- doesn’t change the underlying injustice that resulted in an orgy of violent “entertainment for the desperate
It was the enlightenment political and philosophical ideas which helped catalyze ideas which led to the overthrow of monarchy. These include democracy, freedom speech and thought, separation of church and state, prohibition against slavery etc..to claim that these were somehow connected to conservatism is another example of ahistorical fantasy devoid of any basic understanding of the march towards justice that the left and progressives have been fighting since the original progressive – Jesus H Christ.

Calling the French revolution a leftist movement is like saying peasant revolutions in the 12th century were actually communist movements

That’s because “leftist” literally refers to all viewpoints left of center. From tolerant liberalism all the way to militant communism and everything in between. It’s a ridiculous term to use to describe a political party.
