Wow! Looks like he already has 2 divorces, a mortgage, and several career changes under his belt.

    2. God damn, Lou Diamond Phillips was doing some hellacious catfishing in La Bamba. 😳

Such a sad story. Left us some good music but died tragically too young, just when his career was about to take off.

    4. That’s the oldest looking teenager I’ve ever seen. Did he start a pack a day habit when he was 7?

    5. A man was once born a baby, spent 16-ish years as a boy then spent roughly 30 years in their 40s.

    6. Im almost shit bricks when i found out he was only 17, bro looks like a grown ass man 🤣

      Anyway rip to the legend

It’s like that Bad Boys scene 🎬

      “How old are you?”

      “I’m 14”

      “Boy, you look 40”.

    8. A friend’s mother went to school with him. She said he took his guitar with him everywhere. Dude was definitely passionate.

    9. I see why casting directors could get away with casting 30 year olds to play high schoolers for so many decades

Random story about the writer of LaBamba… We lived next to them when I was in High School and someone was putting threatening and racist notes and things at their door, we were worried slightly just because of the proximity and maybe they would use our yard etc. Turns out they never caught the person and 20 years later while visiting my parents house I heard from a neighbor they thought it was me being a little shit racist! WTF! Not one word or anything, just weird looks I couldn’t understand and silence. I’m still butt hurt about it, I told the friend to tell them it wasn’t me but whatevs, maybe one day I can clear it up.

this is one of those photos that makes me feel like I missed a whole era I somehow still feel connected to… I remember going through an old box of my parents’ stuff and finding records and pictures from around this time, and it weirdly felt more alive than anything digital now 😭 something about people back then just feels more real, like they didn’t know they were going to be remembered the way we do now. it always makes me wonder how different I’d be if I grew up in that kind of world

    12. Yikes, maybe Grease was actually on to something with the actors they had playing those “teenagers.”
