    1. Context: During the 1994 Caribbean Cup the game organizers decided to add a new rule to spice up the game called the “Golden goal” if the game was taken to extra time, 1 goal will be counted as 2 goals, they hoped this will encourage players to be more aggressive and thus a more thrilling match

      *The lead up:

So it’s the match between Barbados and Grenada and the score was Barbados 2-1 Grenada, if the score stayed the same then Grenada will be able to continue since Barbados needs a goal difference of 2 goals . So Barbados hatched a plan and scored an OWN goal to make the score 2-2 which means they will have to go to extra time, and if in extra time Barbados can score a goal it will count as 2 goals thus giving them their 2 goals difference.

      *the Chaos:

Grenada realizing Barbados’s plan, in the last 5 minutes tried their best to either score in Barbados’s net or get an own goal to get the score up to 3-2 to avoid extra time and still win.

Barbados also realizing Grenada’s plan now has to defend BOTH their own goal and Grenada’s net to keep the score 2-2

      *aftermath:

Barbados would fortunately able to keep the score 2-2 and won 4-2 in extra time

Edit: rewrote the context to clear up some mistakes
