Bismarck was a mid ship for its displacement, with a good crew, and got in some good shots.
The Kriegsmarine didn’t have much experience building ships of that size, and it showed. That said, the officers and crew of that ship did very well with the equipment they were handed, but the Bismarck was always going to go down. It was just a question of how many RN ships it was going to take with it on its way down.
In the end, it probably did a couple of notches above median expectation.

Highly recommend the series about the sinking of the *Bismarck* on the We Have Ways Of Making You Talk podcast. It’s a roller coaster.

Bismark sinks HMS Hood.

Every UK ship in the Atlantic and a few in the Mediterranean sent after it, with the Americans helping to find it.

I’m pretty sure a British card, especially about boats, should cost blue mana.

I fell like the Royal Navy should be White / Blue / Red.
White mana is associated with discipline and honor. Red is associated with bravery and confidence. Then water, the ocean and seafaring is all associated with blue mana. Also blue because naval warfare is probably the most knowledge based, rational, science heavy kind of battlefield plus the british have always been the masters of military intelligence and spycraft (all associated with blue mana). Plus red/blue is generally associated with machines and red/white is military excellence.
Plus then it’s the colors of the union jack. Big missed opportunity.

Look, people talk a lot about how upset America gets when you touch their boats. Where did you think they got that from?
