I remember hold our 18yr old Pekingese when it was time, he was scared, in pain, and nervous, but when I put him in my lap and comforted him he relaxed and I remember his eyes closing after the first shot which was a sedative and then feeling his heart stop after the second dose. I looked at my wife and said “he’s gone” and I am suddenly crying again now.
