They weren’t missionaries so to speak, but they did set up a few churches in Canada, the Midwest, PNW, and San Diego, the latter being where they settled permanently in the early 40s. My great-grandpa Jacob (pictured here) was quite a creative person and created a lot of scrapbooks and took a ton of photos that I have now inherited now that my grandma has passed. From what I remember my grandma telling me, they were on the road a lot. My grandma hated being a minister’s daughter and ended up in a Romeo/juliet situation with the son of a rival church family. They married and the families HATED it

      Wow! I cannot believe that you still have photos from this era that is so cool I love how nonchalant they look and that means it’s probably because with the cameras they really couldn’t do much other than act nonchalant. They just seem pretty chill.
