They lived in Cavan, Ireland. He served in the British army but I do not know any details about his service. They had 10 kids (my Great Grandad was the second youngest born in 1905). Several of the older boys also served in the British army, they fought in WW1 as part of the Gordon Highlanders. In 1915 my Great Grandad came to New York with his older adult sisters and younger brother on the SS Philadelphia. They ended up in Ontario, Canada. My Great Grandad talked about working in paper mills in Ontario (unsure when as he was only 10 when he moved there). His sisters ended up getting married and moving to various parts of Canada (so if you’re from Canada and have a great grandma or whatever with the maiden name Halton reach out because we might be related hah I know one of the sisters full married name was Agnes Bowman). My Great Grandad ended up moving to Shortsville, NY in 1923 and lived there the rest of his life. He worked for the Lehigh Railroad.

Side note: my Great-Great Grandma’s maiden name was McEnroe so I may be related to the tennis great somewhere down the line as his family is allegedly from the same area of Ireland 🤷🏼‍♂️
