Interesting! This young lady was probably a pioneer in her area. In Cobb County, Georgia, in the 1950s, my grandmother remembers only men school bus drivers. The local service station owner, who was married to a relative of my grandmother, was most often the driver for her neighborhood. Women driving a bus were unheard of in our area at that point. I think it changed in the mid-to-late 1960s.
