Oh yea, steak and lobster, every Sunday. Sounds good until you realize they boil both at the same time in the same water. And if you’re out in the field or on duty, your to-go plate is always ice cold by the time it gets to you. The military wastes so much fucking money you all!!!!!

Surf and Turf is the meal you get before you’re extended on a deployment. The Ford had been out and extended before Annoying Orange launched operation Epic Epstien.

Hate people like this “finally taking care of our soldier!”
While always voting with people cutting taxes and cutting resources for vets while sending kids to war. Yea really taking care of them with that one meal.

Id get steak and lobster once a month in Bahrain in 2022. It depended on the budget of our galley and they worked the numbers to do that. Usually as the joke goes steak and lobster meant something was suspicious like obviously war was on the horizon.
Some things to point out, I was not on a ship. If a ship is offering steak and lobster thats usually a indicator of something is kinda suspect, like highly suspect.
If its across many branches of the military and there’s steak and lobster offered en mass then its basically war 100%

Everyone keeps talking about the fact that is a ‘keep em sweet’ deployment meal but no one is talking about the unseasoned white basmati rice just stuck in there?? Like just comfort food and then yeah glob that fucking rice in there

I did my dental internship at a coast guard station
Officers mess had shrimp and steak every lunch. Special lobsters(dont.know if it were deployments) my father was career AirForce WWII, Korea Vietnam. I got some of his flight lunches, he never mentioned that kind of food at the mess. Maybe Dad was holding out on us.
