Navy here, just wanna throw in that while I don’t know the full context here, it was common when on deployment to get steak and lobster immediately before receiving the news that your deployment is getting extended. Kinda a meme to us really.

Maybe we should overhaul the way budgets are allocated, this incentive to spend everything else losing it next year is absurd, we’ve probably wasted trillions due to this archaic shit.
