      I could live there. Honestly. A toilet next door and the carriage as living space. Forever…that’s wonderful.

      At my nonprofit organization, Black Butte Center for Railroad Culture in Northern California, we are restoring one of these! It won’t look as nice as this… Because we aren’t going to put in all the upholstery. However, I just wanted to say I can’t believe how well they put these cars together. This was just a mail car, but it had boards that were over 20 feet long! You can tell that the railroads also owned the sawmills! You never see boards that long…

      Reminds me of the attention to detail in great railway hotels of the same period. Proper craft, that.

    5. Everything there is made bespoke for that car right? It really was a different era.
