"A tall conical turban provided convenient transportation for a number of sharp steel quoits – edged weapons hurled to lethal effect by the practised hand of the Akalis."
"The chakram (Sanskrit: cakra, cakram; Punjabi: cakkra, cakkram) is a throwing weapon from the Indian subcontinent. It is circular with a sharpened outer edge and a diameter of 12–30 centimetres (4+1⁄2–12 inches). It is also known as chalikar[1] meaning "circle", and was sometimes referred to in English writings as a "war-quoit". The chakram is primarily a throwing weapon, but can also be used hand-to-hand."

That’s some Yu-Gi-Oh bullshit right there
I have questions and they’re all dumb.
See, why wasn’t Xena wearing one of these?
Was this the inspiration for “wizard” hats?
This is 100% Harry Potter in Space!!
So I just realized that Oddjob from Goldfinger was practicing a traditional form of “quoit throwing!”
The folks at r/wizardposting will love this
I know this thing, it’s in the victoria and Albert museum. Such a cool hat
We all should start doing hats again. Hats get some of the coolest extras. Cardinals get those wide brimmed hats, then theres those tilted brim hats from the 20s or whatever, fucking crazy psychedelic shit like this thing, there’s turbans and fezes and pith helmets. Nobody wears cool hats anymore, it’s all baseball cap, baseball cap, baseball cap, two stoners in beanies, and the obligatory dude at the airport who – even though he’s about to board a fucking airplane – decided to show up wearing his biggest stetson. But where’s my ushankas? Where’s the porkpies and the Panamas? I want hats back, we need to start getting vertical again, I’m trying to vertmax
