Since when was any “news” outlet not slop and government propaganda? They created this duality so they could mask propaganda. The duality creates conversations like -“This news outlet is BS!”, “No, your news outlet is BS!”, “Oh yeah?, you think that because insert political views/party here!”. The gov did it this way to make it seem more organic, like if they both agree on something “iT hAs to bE tRutH” so they can push it’s “coMmOn sENsE aGeNDa” or sway public opinions any way they choose, agreeing most times with the politics of the party currently in control depending on what flavor “news” slop one subscribes to.
