Tbh, idk the exact policy on how to handle items that are too wide, but itβs a big no no to drive around with the load raised for no reason. If the load is too heavy, it can tip the forklift, and itβs just generally safer to not have things raised high in the air for no reason.
No idea why he kept the load elevated so high. Looks like he had some stuff to clear inside, but he could have still been a few feet lower to start and basically gone down to ground level once he was halfway out the door. Always carry your load as low as possible.

I worked on a plane that had a wingspan a couple inches wider than the door of the hanger we built it in. Had to do something like this to get it out.
