Normalized against total restaurant counts in a 7×7 mi grid search. Sure seems to be a NorCal thing (excluding some major sandwich lovers in Reno lol).

    I made this because I think it's super weird that other places don't have this absolutely delicious sandwich bread.

      Tool: A Python script that parses the dataset to track “Dutch Crunch” or “Tiger Bread” mentions in reviews (normalized in a 7×7 mi grid search). The visualization was matplotlib and geopandas.

    2. San Jose native. It’s because that stuff tears up the roof of your mouth if it’s fresh. People here have been naturally selected for camel-palates by now.

      It’ll take a few generations for people to catch on and eat it upside down. 

    3. Huh, I moved to NorCal from the UK and just assumed Dutch Crunch was a nationwide thing. TIL otherwise, I guess.
