I’m not a fan of the Iran War, but this isn’t humor…it’s just a screenshot.

Ok this is the second time I’ve seen posted in the last hour. It just feels weird, because it’s from 2014. I guess it was no less ridiculous then, Bezo was still scum, billionaires still didn’t give a shit about us, but for some reason it does feel like that should be pointed out.

I’m about to turn 46. My life has not been made safer by wars. It’s a constant never ending worry of violence and death coming to my doorstep because we’re a bloodthirsty nation obsessed with the military industrial complex.
Do you all understand that every single day of your lives have been lived under the threat of mutually assured destruction (MAD)? That we’re in a global game of Russian Roulette, but the gun is loaded with Nukes? You’ve never lived a day where the chance your whole town or city could be vaporized off the face of the earth. And warfare pushed the needle to Doomsday midnight.
So no, war doesn’t make us safe.

Wars are the traditional way of getting rich but it’s changed a lot from dividing spoils, building a statue and shit like this, now the poorest mfs go and die for the richest mfs that probably never seen a battlefield.

In the long run, the lesson we teach is always the same: acquire nuclear weapons at any cost.
If you don’t have them, we will feel free to start bombing you whenever one narcissistic idiot feels like it, and our thousands of politicians will do nothing to stop him. Witness Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Venezuela, and more.
Usually we’ll do it if you have oil. But it really means your leader didn’t praise our President enough. A solid gold plaque or a few million dollars is all it takes. No? Then… bombs away. Sorry about your kids and your cities.
We’ll make up the flimsiest excuse later. That you were a “danger” somehow. Our people will believe that. They also believe that science is a hoax and that Hillary Clinton runs a pedophile ring from the basement of a pizza shop, that Haitian immigrants are “eating the dogs”, that measles and polio are better for them than vaccines, and that giving their money to the rich makes life better for them.
Even if our people resist, what can they do? After all, we have **nuclear weapons**.
See, because once you have even one of those, you get to do whatever the hell you want. We won’t touch you. Take over your neighboring country! Starve any people you don’t like! Dictate global trade policy! Have your billionaires get _even richer_!
